Omanhene Commends Akatakyiman Rural Bank

The Akatakyiman Rural Bank has presented a sponsorship package valued at GH? 2,500 to the Komenda Traditional Council in support of this year?s Nyeyi Afahye of the people of Komenda.
The package comprises 100 pieces of Akatakyiman Rural Bank/Nyeyi Afahye branded polo ?T? shirts and three huge banners, to be exhibited during a float to herald the festival at Komenda.
Mr. David Asamoah, Manager, Akatakyiman Rural Bank, who presented the package on behalf of the board and management, pledged to present an additional GH?1,000 to the Traditional Council during the durbar to climax the celebration of the festival on September 13.
At a brief ceremony at the Komenda Palace, Mr Asamoah said the gesture was part of the bank?s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
He said the bank, had over the years, constructed a foot bridge between two communities, graded a road leading to the Kissi Health Centre, donated bags of cement and musical instruments to some schools at Komenda, as part of the CSR activities.
Mr. Asamoah said the most recent was the donation of 18-stuffed benches valued at hundreds of Ghana cedis to the Kissi and Komenda Health Centres to ease congestion at their Out-Patient Departments (OPDs).
He said the bank, had as part of its plans, instituted a scholarship scheme to aid brilliant but needy students in the Municipality to achieve their future aspirations.
He expressed gratitude to the Komendaman Development Committee and the Traditional Council for their cooperation since its establishment and wished them a happy celebration.
The Omanhen of the Komenda Traditional Area, Nana Kodwo Kru II, expressed gratitude to the Bank for its invaluable contribution towards the development of the town.
The Nyeyi Festival is celebrated in honour of the departed heroes who founded the 26 villages of Komendaman and also to strengthen the bond between them and the present generation.
This year?s celebration, on the theme: ?Ensuring Sustainability through Education? would feature many activities such as clean-up exercises, regatta, football competition, float through the principal streets, inter schools quiz competition, and cooking competition.
